The Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) is the "premier provider of DoD technical information."

In DTIC, available to search are student papers from the Naval War College and other service schools as well as contracted studies and technical reports produced in support of the defense community. ​

Searching DTIC: Home Page

• From the DTIC home page, you can select either Site Search or Search DoD S& T Reports .
• Enter search terms in the search box. Click Search
• Use quotation marks for phrases. Just as with Google, AND is assumed between terms.
• To search for the phrase,  Taiwan Straits,  type “Taiwan Straits.”
• To search for BOTH words, not necessarily in a phrase, type Taiwan Straits (equivalent to Taiwan AND Straits). To search for EITHER word, type Taiwan OR Straits. 

Searching DTIC: Public Collections

• Search the Public Collections for more complex searches of individual collections such as budget databases, conference proceedings, and scholarly publications.

Searching DTIC: R&E Gateway

• Search DTIC's R&E Gateway portal to search their controlled collections, which include research project data, budget narratives, and more. **CAC card registration is required**
