News You Can Use from the Eccles Library

The NWC Library provides digital access for two very significant publications from the
International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS). 

• The Military Balance is an annual assessment of the military capabilities and defense
  economics of 171 countries worldwide.
• Strategic Survey: The Annual Assessment of Geopolitics provides in-depth analysis of
  events, and geopolitical and economic challenges region by region.

The NWC Library offers access to a collection of newspapers with a personal user account. 
These accounts are for the Internet sites of the Financial Times, New York Times,
Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal. 

Instructions for creating the personal user accounts to the daily content from these newspapers can
be found on the Newspapers LibGuide.  Additionally, you will find information on keyword searching
in news sources on Nexis Uni by newspaper title or topic. Nexis Uni is an electronic resource from 
Lexis Nexis, and is a major resource for national and international newspapers, business, and
legal information.    

Note: Please help us keep the library clean. When you finish using a workstation in the library,
please wipe it down so someone else can use it safely.  Cleaning supplies are placed nearby.

Welcome to the Naval War College Library!  Keep your eyes open for the NYCU blog. It will be coming your way  to make sure you get the Library News You Can Use.   

Here are some things you need to know now:

• Library key tags are available for pick up at the Library Service desk.
• There are two self-check machines, and they are both working.  These machines allow you to use your key tag to check out books afterhours. One is on the Main Level near the service desk. The other is on Lower Level 2, all the way down the stairs. 
• The Library is open 24/7, staffed M-F, 0800-1600.  Book stacks are open, located at the bottom
  of the stairs on Lower Level 2.   

The Librarians will offer instruction sessions during the month of August.  All of these will be virtual.  We will send out email reminders with Zoom links.
