Logistics can be defined as the planning and execution of the movement and support of forces; including aspects such as maintenance, transportation, supply, field services, distibution, operational contract support, and general engineering support.

 

Sustainment can be defined as the providing of logistics, financial management, personnel services, and health service sipport to maintain forces until a mission is complete.

 

Deployment can be defined as the movement of forces into and out of an operational area, with sustainment being a crucial part of this process.
