Aldrich Hazen Ames is a former 31-year CIA counterintelligence operative and analyst who committed espionage against the United States by spying for the Soviet Union and Russia. He was convicted of espionage in 1994. Arrested with him was his wife, Rosario Ames, who had aided and abetted his espionage activities.
