If you wish to obtain books or copies of periodical articles that the Naval War College does not own you should request an Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
The Interlibrary Loan Service supports the faculty, students and staff in their study and research by obtaining needed materials from other libraries in a collaborative manner. The interlibrary loan request must be for material in support of classroom teaching, research, studies, or mission-related tasks at the Naval War College. Certain types of publications such as reference works, videos/DVDs, books published in the current year, audiovisual and microform may not be available for loan. However, we will make every effort to obtain requested materials in a timely manner.
If your interlibrary loan request does not fall into the above purview, please request an Interlibrary Loan at your local public library or from an institution which you are affiliated. Many public libraries will process interlibrary loans for you if you are a state resident and can show proper identification.
If you are affiliated with the Naval War College AND HAVE A NWC LIBRARY ACCOUNT you should request an ILL via this link Request Interlibraryloan Link .
COPYRIGHT RESTRICTION WARNING
The copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction. One of the specified conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be "used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research." If a user makes a request for, or later uses, a photocopy or reproduction for purposes in excess of "fair use," that user may be liable for copyright infringement. This institution reserves the right to refuse to accept a copying order if, in its judgment, fulfillment of the order would involve violation of copyright law.
